50th Anniversary Garden Party

The Ledyard Garden Club held its 50th Anniversary Garden Party on 26 July 2014 at the Great Oak Garden at the Nathan Lester House in Gales Ferry. The Garden Party was attended by the current, Charter and former Club Members, their guests, the Ledyard Mayor, John Rodolico, & the Caretakers of the Nathan Lester House.

Dedication of 50th Anniversary Tree

The Garden Party program included presentation of a Proclamation from the Office of the Major to the Garden Club to recognize the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Garden Club and a short program about the history of the Nathan Lester Gardens and dedication of a memorial Cornus florida 'Appachalian Spring' tree and plaque to celebrate the Club's 50th Anniversary.

Many of the Club's photo albums were on display highlighting the Club's meetings, and Dinners, Annual Plant Sales, and Community Projects over the recent years prompting many a trip down memory lane.

The Garden Party was rounded off with an Anniversary Tea of light refreshments and cold drinks. The Tea Tables & Gardens were decorated with beautiful arrangements using flowers and greenery from Members gardens that highlighted the talented Flower Arrangers within the Club.
